Description
Marek "Mauk" Foehammer spent most of his life building his skill and reputation as a master smithy. He sold jewelry and finely crafted metalwork at his store, Hawk's Regalia, in Waterdeep.
Since a disaster at Hawk's Regalia, Mauk has owed Waterdeep 50,000 gold. He is strongly motivated to earn and find wealth.
Mauk spent the last few decades serving in the Iron Guard of Citadel Adbar.
Fall of the House of Foehammer
While running Hawk's Regalia in Waterdeep, Mauk used the Drider's Claw to draw the black market to him. Mauk's apprentice, Peubus Stoneshaft, hired a team of thieves to steal the Drider's Claw and burn down Hawk's Regalia.
In fighting the fire, Waterdeep's guards discovered the back room in which Mauk hid away his black market goods. Mauk was fined the tremendous amount of 50,000 gold, and banished from Waterdeep. For a time, Mauk snuck around the shadows of Waterdeep, wasting away his final copper pieces at taverns and gambling dens. Finally, Dain Frostbeard came to Waterdeep to recruit Mauk into the Iron Guard of Citadel Adbar.
Reawakening the Forge of Fury
In Khrudrukar, Mauk helped recover the magic forge that Durgeddin and Arundil used to forge weapons and armor of legendary quality. After finding Durgeddin's magic axe, Mauk sought to learn how to use the forge to transfer the axe's power to his own glaive, Headshaver. After working with Drustan and the journals of Durgeddin and Arundil, Mauk was able to awaken the Forge of Fury and transfer some, if not all, of the magic from Durgeddin's axe to Headshaver.
