Description

Oilvayne was born far beneath Waterdeep, in the Undermountain city of Skullport, to a human father, and a drow mother. Afflicted with a mysterious blood disease from birth, much of his light blue skin has always been covered with black veins, streaks and splotches; the dread marks of his curse. In the fourth year of his life, his right arm shriveled and was consumed from within by the shadow blood in his veins. An oversized, enchanted metal plate was attached to where his arm once sprouted, in the hopes of keeping the cursed blood at bay.

Oilvayne has learned to use his arm to summon magical powers. A loner by birth, Oilvayne has since learned the joys of friendship.

Ted

Oilvayne has a complicated relationship with his human father, Ted. Oilvayne's father abandoned him at an early age, then showed up again after 15 years. Ted seemed friendly, but in truth simply wanted Oilvayne's money and a sampling of his oil arm. Ted abandoned Oilvayne once more in Mirabar, taking away his black oil pinky finger.

Summoned to Deep Imaskar

When leaving Khrundrukar, the group was accosted by a bright light and a stunning force. Somehow, Oilvayne was transported to a chamber in the underground city of Deep Imaskar. His physical form back in Khrundrukar had been replaced by an impostor.

Oilvayne had been summoned by Dejah Parmintor, a Deep Imaskari spellcaster who knew Oilvayne's father, Ted. Dejah revealed that it was her, long ago, who had put the metal plate on Oilvayne's body, though its purpose was as a tap for his magic oil. Through their conversation, Oilvayne recalled one of the visions of his half-brother Scrimcorn, of a vast darkness bleeding. Dejah was stunned by this, and told Oilvayne that it confirms a prophesy that the world will end. Oilvayne was given back his pinky finger and sent back to Khrundrukar, with a little black puppy he named Snoots.
