Description
Scrimcorn is a Druid, but “witch” would be more appropriate. He was raised in a brackish swamp and lives on the road - and it shows. Preferring a muddy camp over a night at an inn, Scrim is covered by a layer of grime that rarely comes off. Scrimcorn spends his time with bugs, snakes, frogs, and vermin (with a few of these often crawling out of his many pouches).
Scrimcorn is a scion of the Three Witches, local deities of the Sword Coast who raised Scrimcorn after he was abandoned by his father, Ted. As their servant, Scrimcorn is set out on mysterious quests, the reasons for which he is not told. Scrimcorn often communicates with the witches through visions and portends.
Swarm Forms
Scrimcorn possesses the unique ability to wild shape into swarms of creatures. He often takes the form of a swarm of flesh-eating beetles.
Mere of Dead Men
Scrimcorn is occasionally sought out for help solving problems of nature facing villages or individuals. However, his assistance comes at a steep, and often ironic, price.
In the Mere of Dead Men, Scrimcorn was asked to help recover a child kidnapped by a tribe of lizardfolk. To find the child, Scrimcorn summoned a swarm of locusts, which guided his party's way. However, by the time the child was recovered, the locust swarm had devoured the child's home town. In the end, the child was revealed to be yet another pet of the witches.
Visions of the Three Witches
When the Three Witches wish to communicate with Scrimcorn, they often send him a frog coated in toxins. Upon licking the frog, Scrimcorn sees visions with messages about his next quest.
After rescuing the Hucrele children from the Sunless Citadel, Scrimcorn received a vision of a vast darkness bleeding. This was later revealed by Dejah Parmintor, a Deep Imaskari spellcaster, to portend the end of the world. The series of visions also contained the message "Keep Bearjaw safe and happy."
Upon leaving Khrundrukar, Scrimcorn again received a series of visions. Through these visions, he received instructions to bring to the Witches the powder of bones that had been crushed by the Hammer of All Souls in war.
